A combination of stunning Western Australian beaches, rugged gorges, and unique floral landscapes. We also see some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the world, and meet the ever-popular dolphins at Monkey Mia.
We depart Perth for our seven-day adventure, travelling through Bindoon and the gentle hillside farmlands to the historic monastic town of New Norcia for morning tea. We explore the town before making our way to Moora for lunch then to Three Springs and Mingenew, where the flowers should be in full bloom. We have an afternoon stop before arriving at the seaside town of Dongara, our stop for the night. (D)
This morning we make our way to the pioneering village of Greenough, then on to Geraldton and the HMAS Sydney Memorial. After lunch we continue to Northampton and take the coastal road to Kalbarri, with a stop at the Lynton Convict Settlement ruins, a look back at our convict past and also visit the small seaside town of Port Gregory, before arriving at our accommodation for two nights. We start the day visiting the dramatic scenery and vast array of flora in the Kalbarri National park. The major geographical features of the park include the Murchison River gorge which runs for nearly 80 km on the lower reaches of the Murchison River. Later we return to town for lunch and then visit the Rainbow Jungle Australian Parrot Breeding Centre., followed by a sunset cruise on the river before dinner. ( Note: breakfast, dinner, cruise, bird park and National Park entry all included in the fare).
Departing Kalbarri, we continue our journey to Denham, with a morning tea stop at Hawkes Head in the Kalbarri National Park, then through to Billabong Roadhouse for a lunch stop. In the afternoon we stop at the Hamlin Telegraph Station for a look at the Stromatolites and also Shell Beach, before arriving at the seaside town of Denham for a two night stopover. (B,D)
Today is all about the dolphins of Monkey Mia. We enjoy a cruise on Shark Bay aboard the Catamaran Aristocat, a wonderful way to see the dolphins, before heading back to Denham for lunch. Later in the day we visit Eagles Nest boardwalk, a great place to spot sharks, dugongs and stingrays and then return to Denham for the night. (Note: breakfast, dinner, boat cruise, and entry to National park inc luded in fare)
Departing Denham, we continue our journey, stopping for morning tea at the Overlander Roadhouse, later continuing south on the West Coast Highway. We head to Coalseam Conservation Park, which usually has an abundance of wildflowers at this time of year. Later we return to Dongara for our last night together. (D)
Our last day arrives and we continue to Perth through Jurien Bay and Cervantes, with a stop at the dramatic Pinnacles. We drive around the area, making stops on the way for sightseeing and photos. After lunch we continue to Perth. (B/ entry to Pinnacles inc in fare).
