Discover rugged towering cliffs of Karijini and crystal-clear waters of WA’s coastline.

Day 1

Departing Perth we travel through the wheatbelt towns of Dalwallinu and Wubin and arrive in the historic outback town of Cue, our stop for the night. (D)

Day 2

We continue the Great Northern Hwy to Meekathara, passing pastoral leases of the Gascoyne area, arriving in the afternoon to the mining town of Newman. (B, D)

Day 3

Today onto Karijini National Park, we spend time in the very impressive range country and visit Dales Gorge, Circular Pool and Fortescue Falls. Then onto Tom Price, our home for the night. (B, L, D)

Day 4

Departing Tom Price we travel via Paraburdoo to Nanutarra on the Ashburton River. On to Cape Range National Park and the spectacular scenery of Charles Knife Road, where oil was first found in Western Australia in the 1950’s. Overnight in Exmouth. (B)

Day 5

Exmouth, a most fascinating place, the centre for the Navy Northwest Cape Base. We travel to the head of the Gulf looking for whales migrating down the coast, further down the coast we take a cruise on Yardie Creek flowing out of the ranges. Return to town for lunch. Then to our accommodation at Carnarvon. (Yardie Creek included, B, D)

Day 6

We visit the Babbage Island Jetty and the Fishing Harbour. This is the old Northwest, sheep station country, where so many over the last 130 years have battled drought and great floods. Further south on the road to Shark Bay we come to Hamelin Pool and Shell Beach to see the ancient Stromatolites. Spend the 2 nights at Denham. (B, D)

Day 7

A morning visit to Monkey Mia to see those magnificent creatures of the wild, dolphins, we also enjoy a boat cruise on the Bay. Later “Ocean Park”, an exciting eco-friendly and interactive aquarium that is located on the pristine shores of the Shark Bay World Heritage Marine Park, we learn about many fascinating marine creatures that are found in this heritage listed area. (Boat cruise, Ocean Park included in your fare, B)

Day 8

Back to the Northwest Coastal Highway through Northampton to Geraldton. On the shores of Champion Bay this town has undergone some magnificent redevelopment in the last few years and has been given a new lease of life. We tour the town and visit the HMAS Sydney Memorial. (B, D)

Day 9

We return to Perth today, but first we call into the historic village of Greenough for a look around this well-kept piece of history.  Later we pass through the seaside town of Dongara and enjoy a lunch stop at Jurien Bay, before arriving back in Perth. (B)
