A tour packed with variety for those who wish to discover the spectacular scenery of the SA Silver Outback and Riverina Country of NSW. Changing landscapes will keep you mesmerized, from wide open plains to tranquil rivers. The scenery is simply Australian.
Day 1
You begin with your flight to Adelaide, home of Festivals, food, arts and culture. You’ll be met at the airport and first us is a visit to the Mt Lofty Summit. This is the majestic peak of the Mount Lofty Ranges in the Adelaide Hills which provides spectacular panoramic views across Adelaide’s city skyline to the coast. Later you’ll be transferred to your accommodation. (D)
Day 2
We begin our day by travelling to Peterborough, a once thriving railway town in South Australia. We pass many small settlements on the way to Broken Hill. Later on to our accommodation for a two-night stopover. (B,D)
Day 3
A morning visit to the RFDS to hear the stories from the medical frontline in the 1950’s era. Immerse yourself in an audio-visual experience of real-life medical help calls from remote stations to the Broken Hill base. After lunch we visit Silverton, home to many an iconic Australian film. We also visit Broken Hill lookout for a wonderful view of the town and surrounding area. (B)
Day 4
Today we head through the towns of Wilcannia and Cobar, with stops on the way, before arriving in the wonderful river town of Bourke for a two-night stopover. (B,D)
Day 5
We start the day with a visit to the “Back of Bourke “exhibition centre. This world-class centre employs a series of interactive installations and stunning visual screen displays to immerse visitors with stories of the Australian Outback, bringing them to life and actively engaging visitors with the area’s rich history. This afternoon we take a cruise on the Darling River on the PV Jandra paddle steamer. Later we head back to our accommodation, after an amazing day in Bourke. (B)
Day 6
Today we travel south along the Kidman Highway and visit the town of Hillston on the way to Hay, our home for the night. (B,D)
Day 7
We start the day with a visit to the “Shear Outback Centre”. When you visit Shear Outback, you’ll meet the legendary characters that have made Australian shearing culture what it is today. Later we make our way to Mildura on the mighty Murray River, for a two-night stopover. (B,D)
Day 8
We start the day with a visit to the Holden Motor Museum which is the result of one man’s passion and love for Holden cars. After free time we make our way to PV Rothbury in the afternoon for our dinner cruise on the Murray River. (B,D)
Day 9
We head towards Adelaide today, visiting the little towns of Remark, Angaston and Nuriootpa, before arriving at our accommodation for our last night together. (B,D)
Day 10
Today we say our farewells. You will be transported to the airport for your flight home, taking some wonderful memories with you. (B)
