A tour to the stunning national parks in the south-west of Western Australia.

Day 1

Departing East Perth Rail Terminal at 7.30 am, we travel to Augusta via Bunbury where we enjoy morning tea at Koombana Bay.  Then on to Margaret River for lunch and a look at this cosmopolitan town. Then to Prevelly Beach on the edge of Leeuwin Naturaliste National park, before arriving at our accommodation. (D)

Day 2

Today we travel to the D’Entrecasteaux National Park and Walpole through the Shannon and Mt Frankland National Parks, View the Walpole Wilderness from high above the forest floor on the spectacular Mount Frankland Wilderness lookout. After lunch we continue our journey to Albany and visit the new refurbished Gap and Natural Bridge, before arriving at our accommodation. (B,D)

Day 3

Today we explore the Southern Ocean area, visiting Cheyne Beach on Two Peoples Bay, then on to Hopetoun for lunch.  Later we follow the truly beautiful coastal road with dramatic cliffs and snow-white beaches to Esperance with an afternoon stop at Stokes National Park and its stunning Vistas. We have a 2-night stop-over in Esperance.

Day 4

A morning visit to Cape Arid National Park and the mouth of the Thomas River, then later to Cape Le Grande National Park with its spectacular white beaches and interesting rocky headlands. In the afternoon we have some free time to explore this wonderful seaside town, with perhaps a visit to the Historic Museum Village.  Later in the afternoon we take the stunning coastal Twilight Beach road to see the magnificent blue water bays of Esperance. Day 5

Leaving Esperance, we travel towards Norseman on the Esperance highway.  We pass Salmon Gums near Peak Charles National Park and see Lake Dundas on the edge of Dundas National Park with the Bremer Range on our left. We have some time in Norseman before taking the Norseman Hyden road to Hyden.  We see Lake Johnson on the way – truly beautiful in its own right. (B,D)

Day 6

Our last day arrives, but not an end to the exploring.  First to Mulka’s Cave to view aboriginal paintings, then Wave Rock. We then travel to Kondinin and Corrigin in the wheat belt, before heading through Quairading and stopping at York for a look at Avon River and a comfort stop. Then on to Perth after an interesting and insightful look at our Southern National Parks. (B)
