As the cooler weather creeps in, you’re probably thinking it would be nice to escape to a warmer climate for a while. And the north of Australia is a good place to start. This year we’re very excited to be running the Broome to Cairns – Savannah Way tour from Tuesday 23 July to Wednesday 07 August 2019. It starts in Broome, takes you up through the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia, across to Kununurra then Katherine. You’ll be greeted by vast gorges, rivers and thermal springs, and locations steeped in history. From Katherine you’ll travel down through Daly Waters to Tennant Creek, then across the border to Queensland. Highlights of the tour include cruises on Geikie Gorge and the Ord River; a breakfast cruise at Nitmiluk Gorge; and a visit to the Daly Waters Pub, made famous for its past murders, shootouts and stampeding cattle! Another trip to warmer climates includes our Tropical North Queensland tour, which follows on from the Broome to Cairns tour. It runs from Sat 10 August to Wed 21 August 2019, beginning in Cairns and finishing in Brisbane. We visit the popular Kuranda markets, Cooktown, Port Douglas, and Townsville. Whilst in Townsville you’ll have the opportunity to take the ferry (own expense) to Magnetic Island to see the largest living coral reef aquarium in the world. The tour continues to beautiful Airlie Beach (where you’ll enjoy a cruise to nearby islands); then Mackay, Rockhampton and Bundaberg (where you’ll visit the Bundabery Distillery Co.).
