A tour for those who wish to discover the spectacular scenery of our Red Centre. Be amazed by the size of our iconic Uluru and the beauty of the nearby Kata Tjuta. Explore historical Alice Springs and the stunning MacDonnell Ranges, and marvel at the Coober Pedy “moonscape”. Be amazed by the Northern Territory journey through the Outback and discover the incredible natural wonders. The Australian outback has to be experienced to be believed.

Day 1

Fly into Darwin where you are met by your Aussie Redback Tours crew. We take an afternoon tour of the city before check-into our accommodation and enjoying our first dinner together at the sailing club. (D)

Day 2

Today we explore Darwin, visiting the Military Museum and the Botanic Gardens, then free time in the city before a sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour. (B,D)

Day 3

Travelling south on the Stuart Hwy today, we stop at Adelaide River’s War Cemetery. We continue via Katherine to Nitmiluk National Park for a tranquil cruise along the spectacular Katherine Gorge. Catch glimpses of wildlife and learn about the history and culture of the local traditional owners, the Jawoyn people. Overnight in Katherine. (B,D)

Day 4

We start the day with a short drive to Mataranka for a swim in the thermal pools of this tropical paradise. Later we visit the “We of the Never Never” cemetery, before heading to the eccentric and iconic Daly Waters Pub. It is here we enjoy the nighttime entertainment and spend the night. (B)

Day 5

Today we travel south, stopping along the way at various old war time towns, and ending at Tennant Creek, an old gold mining town along the Stuart Highway. (B,D)

Day 6

We enjoy a morning visit to Karlu Karlu (Devil’s Marbles). These gigantic boulders have become an internationally recognised symbol of Australia’s outback. We continue to Alice Springs, our home for two nights. (B,D)

Day 7

Today we visit amazing Ormiston Gorge, known for its sheer quartzite cliffs, red river gums and sandy creek bed; and Ellery Creek Big Hole, which contains some of the most dramatic and beautiful countryside in the West MacDonnell Ranges. (B)

Day 8

On to Curtin Springs today, a 1-million-acre cattle property on Lasseter Hwy, visiting the lookouts of Mt Connor and Lake Amadeus along the way. Two-night stopover at Curtin Springs. (B,D).

Day 9

Today is all about the “Rock” and the “Olgas”.  We enjoy an informative tour with a local guide, then you can explore the area and visit the Cultural Centre. You may also fly over both attractions (own expense), before heading back to the “Rock” for a BBQ dinner and a spectacular sunset in the evening. (B,D)

Day 10

Today, we continue to Kings Canyon in the Watarrka National Park. We take a walk into the gorge, marvelling at its breathtaking 100m high walls. Tonight we’ll stay at Kings Creek Station (B,D) Note: Helicopter flight opportunity over Watarrka National Park (own expense) .

Day 11

On to Coober Pedy today, one of the biggest towns in S.A, and home to 92% of Australia’s opals. People live underground to escape the summer heat, and many a film has been made here. (B,D)

Day 12

We spend the day in Coober Pedy, where you will have a chance to buy your very own opal during our town tour. Later we travel to the breakaways for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles whilst watching a magical sunset. (B)

Day 13

This morning we continue on the Stuart Highway with stops on the way at Lake Hart and Woomera. Woomera came into existence as a consequence of Britain’s defence requirements following World War II. Still on the Stuart highway we have an afternoon visit to the Matthew Flinders Lookout before arriving at our accommodation. (B,D)

Day 14

We begin our day with a journey back in time at the Wadlata Centre. We travel on to Port Pirie, where smelters have been in operation since 1889. We have a town tour and free time to explore this little town before heading to Adelaide. (B,D)

Day 15

We visit the Mount Lofty Summit to enjoy spectacular panoramic views across Adelaide’s city skyline to the coast, and then you will be transported to the airport for your flight home. (B)
