Aussie Redback Tours will be covering a large part of Australia this year (as we do every year) and in just three tours, you can travel south to north, east to west, AND see many of the outback towns that have made Australia famous.
Adelaide to Darwin – the “Explorers Way” begins in Adelaide and finishes in Darwin, with the trip heading north through the centre of Australia. On this tour, you’ll visit the famous opal mining town of Coober Pedy; you’ll see the unmissable Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas); you’ll stop at Alice Springs and the surrounding MacDonnell Ranges, waterholes and gorges; then there’s Tennant Creek, the eccentric Daly Waters Pub, Katherine, AND you’ll be treated to a cruise on the beautiful Katherine Gorge in the Nitmiluk National Park. Perth to Cairns – the “Longest Shortcut” begins in Perth and finishes in Cairns, cutting diagonally through Australia and some of the most remote country in the world. On this tour you’ll visit the goldfields region of Western Australia, before continuing on to the Great Central Road through salt lakes, ranges, and sand hills which all have a beauty that is iconically Australian. The tour continues through the Northern Territory and the Gibson Desert, and you’ll visit Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and the beautiful MacDonnell Ranges, as well as the Simpson Desert. The tour passes through many outback towns made famous by poets and singers alike. On day nine the tour crosses into Queensland where the countryside slowly changes again, finally ending up in the tropical rainforest of Cairns. There are too many inclusions to mention but needless to say, this tour offers a HUGE range of variety and is definitely a tour that everyone should have on their bucket list. This tour runs from 13 July to 26 July 2025, and prices start at $6,000 per person. The cost also includes a flight back from Cairns to Perth.
Cairns to Alice Springs – “Historic Outback Towns” is a tour for those who wish to see the iconic Queensland and Northern Territory outback towns made famous in classic Australian songs, poetry and stories. On this tour you’ll travel through Ravenshoe, Charters Towers, Emerald, Clermont, and Longreach (home to the Australia Stockmans Hall of Fame and QANTAS Founders Museum). It includes a cruise down the mighty Thomson River, the Waltzing Matilda Centre at Winton, and a visit to Walkabout Creek Hotel (made famous by Crocodile Dundee), and continues on through the Northern Territory, stopping at a number of outback towns on the way, finishing at Alice Springs, which is nestled in the beautiful MacDonnell Ranges. Whilst at Alice Springs you’ll also be treated to visits to Simpson’s Gap, Ormiston Gorge, and Ellery Creek Big Hole, all of which are spectacular in so many ways. This tour runs from 13 August to 24 August 2025, and prices start at $5,750 per person. The tour also includes the flight from and to Perth.
