Nothing says “Top End Australia” like crocs, boabs, rugged mountains, winding rivers, and little outback towns, and we show you all of these and more on two of our tours in the next few months. Following is a summary of what is included:
The Kimberley Dreaming tour – 12 to 20 June (9 days)
We explore the stunning scenery of WA’s popular Kimberley region. Massive boab trees dotting the landscape, rugged mountain ranges and long, winding rivers will keep you mesmerized, not to mention the variety of wildlife which will keep your camera clicking.
Highlights of the tour include a visit to the Zebra Rock Gallery in Kununurra where you can buy your very own piece of zebra rock, a dip in the Zebedee Hot thermal springs, a visit to the famous El Questro Station, a cruise on the enormous Ord River, and visits to stunning Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. You will also have the opportunity to fly over the Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle (own expense). The Kimberley is one of Australia’s most beautiful areas and you really must visit it at least once in your lifetime.
Broome to Cairns – Savannah Way – 23 July to 07 August (16 days)
The Savannah Way is Australia’s adventure drive, linking the pearling town of Broome in Western Australia’s Kimberley, to Cairns in Tropical North Queensland via the natural wonders of Australia’s tropical savannahs and the Northern Territory’s Top End.
Highlights of this tour include a cruise on Geikie Gorge, a morning cruise on the Ord River to Lake Argyle, a breakfast cruise at Nitmiluk Gorge in Katherine, and a visit to the Daly Waters Pub, made famous for its past murders, shootouts and stampeding cattle! Once we cross the Qld border we visit the iconic outback towns of Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Normanton, and Karumba (where you will experience the most amazing sunset whilst enjoying a fish and chips dinner)! There are many more places to visit in Qld, finishing off in Cairns with a visit to the popular Kuranda markets before your flight home. This really is a magical tour, filled with a variety of experiences, covering many kilometres at a leisurely pace.
