Take in the beauty of the northern wildflower areas of WA, spotting the elusive wreath flower, carpets of everlastings, and more… A perfect short trip away from your everyday activities, exploring the world’s largest collection of wildflowers.
Day 1
We depart from East Perth Train Terminal (northern entrance) at 7.30 am, and travel through Bindoon and the gentle hillside farmlands to the old school site at Wannamal for morning tea and a delightful walk in the bush amongst the wildflowers. To Carnamah for lunch then via Three Springs and Mingenew, with flower stops on the way, later arriving at our accommodation in Geraldton for 3 nights (D)
Day 2
Arriving at Mullewa we visit and enjoy the flowers at its hillside lookout, which overlooks the town. While here we visit one of the many churches build by Dean Hawes while enjoying morning tea. Across to the Yalgoo Morawa Road to see the beautiful Wreath Leschenaultia and then in the afternoon we visit Coalseam National Park, everlastings cover the ground in good years. (B,D)
Day 3
After a visit to Geraldton’s HMAS Sydney Memorial we continue on the North West Coastal Hwy to Binnu with a bush morning tea amongst the flowers then via the Ajana Rd to Hawkes Head and Ross Graeme Lookout in Kalbarri National Park to walk amongst the coastal wildflowers of the area, we also visit the new Skywalk. In the afternoon a visit to Bluff Point then back to our accommodation . (B,D)
Day 4
This morning we travel via the Lynton Convict Settlement and Northampton to Port Denison for a morning tea stop, then to India Ocean Drive, where we visit Mt Lesueur National Park for another walk in the wildflowers, later enjoying lunch at the seaside town of Jurien Bay. Later our last flower walk at Nilgen Reserve before our return to Perth after a wonderful wildflower experience. (B)
