Northern Wildflowers – 3 days
The flowers so abundant this year that we are putting on this second tour for those who don’t want to miss out! Three days to take in the beauty of the northern wildflower areas of Western Australia, spotting the elusive wreath flower (which is more prolific this year than it has been in years), carpets of everlastings, and more…A perfect short trip away from your everyday activities, exploring the world’s largest collection of wildflowers.
Departing East Perth Rail Terminal at 7.30 am, we travel through Bindoon and the gentle hillside farmlands to the old school site at Wannamal for morning tea and a delightful walk in the bush, spotting wildflowers in all directions. Then it’s on to Coomberdale Wildflower Farm for a very interesting talk and display about the wildflower industry. We continue to Carnamah, Three Springs, Mingenew and Geraldton, with flower stops on the way. Accommodation in Geraldton for two nights at the Ibis Styles Motel. (Dinner included)
We travel to Mullewa this morning, visiting the flowers on the hillside lookout. In Mullewa we have morning tea and visit one of the many famous churches built by Dean Hawes. We continue across to Pindar to see the beautiful Wreath Leschenaultia which is in abundance this year, and then we continue our wildflower journey with an afternoon visit to Coalseam Conservation Park, known for its carpets of everlastings. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)
This morning we travel to Port Denison for a morning tea stop, then on to Indian Ocean Drive, where we visit Mt Lesueur National Park for another walk in the wildflowers. Later we enjoy lunch at the seaside town of Jurien Bay. Our last flower walk is at Nilgen Reserve before our return to Perth at around 5.00pm. (B)
