Darwin to Broome

Fly into Darwin where you are met by your Aussie Redback Tours crew. We take an afternoon tour of the city before check-in at our accommodation and enjoying our first dinner together. (D)

Today we explore Darwin. We visit the Darwin Military Museum, stroll through the Darwin Botanic Gardens, and enjoy free time in the city before an afternoon sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour. (B,D)

Travelling south on the Stuart Hwy today, we stop at Adelaide River’s poignant War Cemetery. This afternoon we continue via Katherine to Nitmiluk National Park, where a tranquil cruise along the spectacular Katherine Gorge will allow you to sense the spirituality of the land. Catch glimpses of wildlife and learn about the history and culture of the local traditional owners, the Jawoyn people. Overnight in Katherine. (B,D)

Watch the landscape transforms dramatically today as we journey across vast pastoral leases and Aboriginal homelands into Western Australia.  Overnight in Timber Creek. (B,D)

Today we head to the beautiful Kimberley region of WA. This afternoon and evening is free time to relax, purchase your own dinner, and enjoy this amazing area of the Kimberley. We are in Kununurra for a three-night stopover (B)

This morning we take a cruise up the Ord River to the dam wall at Lake Argyle, with informative commentary. In the afternoon we visit the historic Durack house and the wonderful Mirima National Park. (B,D)

Today you may choose an optional early-morning scenic flight over the spectacular Bungle Bungles before a short drive to Wyndham and the Five Rivers Lookout. We also visit Parry’s Lagoon – a haven for birdlife, crocs, brolgas, and jabirus. Overnight in Kununurra, and free time to purchase your own dinner tonight. (B)

We travel to the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing this morning, stopping en route at Halls Creek. (B,D)

This morning we cruise with a local guide through magnificent Geikie Gorge, watching for freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats, and wallabies as the 30-metre walls of the gorge tower above us. We then travel on through spectacular landscapes en route to the former pearling outpost of Broome, and our home for two nights. (B,D)

Enjoy a town tour with your Aussie Redback crew, visiting the fascinating Japanese Cemetery and nearby Gantheaume Point. In the afternoon we relax together with a drink while the sun sets over Cable Beach. (B)

Today is yours to explore this tropical hideaway. Take an optional tour to Willie Creek Pearl Farm or visit the Malcolm Douglas Croc Farm, or maybe just visit Chinatown and the local pearl shops. It’s your day to do what suits you. (B,D)

This morning after a hearty breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home after a fantastic tour full of memories and new friendships. (B)
